Produce tidbits:
– Beauty is the richest flavored Japanese plum. Sometimes sweet, sometimes tart, it has a wonderful blend of flavors that melt in your mouth. Beauty plums are clingstone, so preserving them is labor intensive. My favorite way to eat them is to pop the whole thing in your mouth and spit out the seed. They are extremely juicy when fully ripe! And they ripen very quickly (may want to keep them in the fridge).
– Kohlrabi is back. Try it raw, pureed into soup, made into fritters, roasted, or steamed.
