Heuchera Fire Chief* - 1 Gallon
Bright, bold, and endlessly charming — Heuchera ‘Fire Chief’ is a standout coral bells cultivar prized for its glowing wine-red foliage and long season of interest.
-
Foliage & Flowers: The leaves form a compact mound of radiant red that may deepen to burgundy as the season progresses. In spring through fall, slender, tall stems rise above the leaves, carrying clusters of delicate pink and white bell-shaped flowers.
-
Size & Habit: Expect a basal mound roughly 7-9 in tall and about 12-15 in wide. Flower stalks can reach up to 18 in high.
-
Growing Conditions: Best in part shade, though it tolerates more sun in cooler climates (but foliage may scorch if the sun is too intense). Prefers moist, well-drained soil; moderate regular water, especially during establishment and heat spells. Hardy in USDA Zones 4-9.
Landscape Uses & Tips:
Great for edging, containers, borders, or mixed perennial beds. The foliage color adds drama, especially when paired with softer greens, silvers, or other foliage contrasts. Deadheading spent flowers helps extend bloom time; divide clumps every few years in spring for best vigor.
