Clematis 'Guernsey Flute' (EviGsy153) is a compact, repeat-blooming, Raymond J. Evison-bred vine, ideal for containers or small spaces. It reaches roughly 4-5 feet in height, featuring large white flowers with red anthers.
The exquisite large star-shaped, pure white flowers with red anthers, Guernsey Flute, would make a wonderful addition to a patio, or in the mid to front of a flower border, where its longevity of successive flowers can be fully appreciated. This exceptional clematis has an unusual but endearing trait of holding, just open flower buds, for an extended period, almost like a champagne flute, hence the use of ‘flute’ in its name. Best grown in partial shade.
Pruning type 2 (In early spring, prune lightly to remove dead/weak stems and shape).
Prefers well-drained, fertile soil. Prefers "cool feet" (mulch the root zone to keep it cool and moist).
